Economic challenges in Pakistan, including rising inflation, unemployment, and income inequality, threaten the social cohesion necessary for peacebuilding. These issues disproportionately impact vulnerable communities, exacerbating grievances that extremist groups often exploit. Peace and economic stability are deeply interconnected; without addressing financial hardships, creating sustainable peace becomes unattainable

Raising awareness about the importance of inclusive economic policies is essential for fostering peace. Policymakers must engage communities to identify local economic needs and implement projects that promote equitable growth. Initiatives such as microfinance for small businesses, vocational training programs, and youth entrepreneurship can empower individuals while reducing unemployment—a key driver of social unrest

Additionally, public campaigns emphasizing the role of economic development in peacebuilding can strengthen collective responsibility. Schools, universities, and media outlets should disseminate messages about how economic justice can mitigate extremism and foster harmony. Citizens and local organizations should be encouraged to advocate for transparent governance and equitable resource distribution to ensure long-term societal stability

To sustain peace, Pakistan must also focus on international collaboration. Partnerships under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and similar initiatives must prioritize human development alongside infrastructure projects. By addressing economic disparities through inclusive policies and awareness programs, Pakistan can lay the foundation for a more peaceful and prosperous future.
